The Contractor, Brand Marketing is responsible for supporting key segments of the Baby Gear category.

In this role, the Contractor is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that drive growth for Newell Brands and our customers, with a primary focus on Marketing and Brand Support (Innovation support, project management, commercialization, and category strategy).

In order to accomplish this, the Contractor will leverage syndicated data, shopper and consumer insights, category and industry trends, to make decisions.

This role will also work cross-functionally with Marketing Ops, Marketing Content, Analytics, Sales Planning, and Consumer and Market Insights.

Specific Responsibilities:

Brand Management

Accountable for supporting the brand marketing strategies across our leading Baby Gear brands, including Graco and Baby Jogger, to build consumer demand and market share, grounded in deep consumer and market understanding.

Supports the annual brand planning process to create a fully integrated marketing plan and programming utilizing an entire Omni-channel approach.

Collects and analyzes market and consumer data to support a categorys innovation strategy or specific initiative.

Collects data on market and consumer to support ideation.

Articulates market or consumer trends as well as new technologies applicable to a brand or category with basic understanding of consumer needs.

Assists in commercializing innovation projects to drive in-market success.

Collaborates on sell story creation for customer facing presentations to support new product launches.

Category Management

Understands key category segment annual PandL targets, consistently identifying opportunities to deliver against the aligned upon target.

Executes against clear objectives for the category and can articulate the category and segment vision for short and long-term success.

Contributes to the delivery of marketing objectives and strategies for the upcoming year including delivery of category segment communications to cross-functional groups.

Familiar with ROI analysis and tracks projects key performance indicators.

Strategy Development and Implementation

Contributes to the overall development of category strategy through targeted POS analysis and consumer research.

Familiar with brand standards and design language and ensures consistency. Acts as brand champion across the business.

Insights and Analytics

Has a general understanding of top consumer trends and insights related to their brand /category.

Has a general understanding of the Category landscape, the key competitors and the key customers.

Reports on current and past performance trends for the category, the brand, the competition and the customer.

Conducts specifically requested analyses and summarizes key findings.

Understands key brand performance metrics including market performance (Sales, POS, Share, Penetration, etc.), brand health tracker (Awareness (aided vs. unaided), Purchase Consideration, Brand Imagery, etc.) and Brand Perceptor Scores.

Financials

Understands the core financial metrics, including Revenue, GM%, CAPEX, etc. that go nto innovation projects and how they are calculated.

Familiar with the concepts behind financial analysis and implications of financial data.

Familiar with the key metrics for Corporate Finance (cash flow, EPS, etc.) and financial terms (ex. gross margin, revenue, etc.).

Conducts specifically requested analyses and summarizes key findings.

Key Qualifications:

Four-year college degree.

1-2 years of marketing experience, ideally in brand management, channel management, or consumer insights for a CPG, durable, or professional products company.

Ability to function as a business owner.

Strong background in analytics preferred.

Experience

Cross-functional project management.

Strong communication skills, written and oral.

Proven ability to work on a team.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Up to 10% travel potential.

Fluent in English.
