Advertising at Amazon is growing incredibly fast by providing efficient tools to drive sales for our vendors and sellers. These customers need tools and guidance that help them get the most from their advertising dollar in the least time. As an Applied Scientist on the CreativeX Reporting Experience team, you will analyze, understand and build innovative new experiences that help advertisers get the most of their campaigns. You will also work on core LLM technologies, including developing best-in-class modeling and prompt optimization algorithms to enable new ad products and generative AI experiences. The CreativeX Reporting Experience team is responsible for the software and algorithms that hundreds of thousands of advertisers use to manage their advertising strategies on Amazon. Our mission is to create a best-in-class Conversational AI that is intuitive, intelligent, and responsive, by developing superior Large Language Models (LLM) solutions and services. These solutions and services are also a fast evolving fabric that enable rapid development by teams across Ads. You will leverage your technical expertise and experience to collaborate with other talented applied scientists and engineers to research and develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to reduce friction and enable natural and contextual conversations

Great candidates for this role will have good communication skills and know how to work collaboratively. They also would have hands-on experience in developing LLM solutions, enjoy operating in dynamic environments, and moving fast to ship solutions and then iterating on user feedback and interactions. Most important, they will work shoulder-to-shoulder with other senior scientists, engineers, product leaders, and software development managers to deliver truly innovative our products.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of building models for business application experience

  • PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience

  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

  • Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

  • Experience in building scalable systems based on web services

  • Experience in partnering with product and program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Unix/Linux

  • Experience in professional software development

  • Sharp analytical abilities, proven design skills, excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong sense of ownership, bias for action, urgency, and drive.
