**Description of Job: The Product Manager position is critical to the growth, expansion, and profitability of The Company brands and products. The Product Manger must develop and maintain in depth knowledge of The Company current product line, each identified competitor's product line(s), and an overall knowledge of the market and near-neighbor categories. This market knowledge will be leveraged to identify growth opportunities via new product development and new business expansion and development. In each instance the Product Manager will not only identify the growth opportunity but will fully orchestrate the implementation of the opportunity by working with sales (product definition, price points), engineering (developing product), quality (specs, certifications), graphics (package, label design), sourcing, and manufacturing. This effort will yield unique, profitable products delivered to the market on time and on budget and will ultimately increase The Company market share, profitability, and customer/consumer allegiance. Key measurements of success for this position will be: 1) the ratio of new product sales (defined as the first 3 years from introduction) as a percent of a particular sales divisions overall sales; 2) the overall gross sales of new products; 3) the gross margin achieved on new products; and 4) number of products/projects delivered on-time, on-budget, at estimated product cost. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of assigned The Company product line and competitors corresponding product lines (features, benefits, retails, etc.). • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the specific market including "near neighbor" markets from a user and business perspective. • Develops and maintains product database with product specifications, artwork, and catalog copy for marketing and sales. • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the consumers' needs within the specific market activity. • Identifies new market expansion opportunities, performing research and developing a unique product offering within the new market. • Coordinates product presentation and packaging on the retail shelf or as delivered to the customer. • Manages the timing of new product introductions and responsibility to deliver end result on-time, on-budget, and at the estimated product cost. • Manages the execution of the marketing plan on new product introductions as necessary. • Leverages market knowledge by assis
