Sony Pictures Entertainment Manager, Product Development, Consumer Products in Culver City, California

Responsibilities:

  • Manage creative merchandising product development efforts for assigned categories for SPE Theatrical and SPE Television licensed properties that could include apparel and/or hardlines.

  • Partner with Director of Product Development to spearhead creative ideation and development efforts for assigned categories.

  • Work hand-in-hand with licensees, leading and managing creative output, ensuring product innovation, brand consistency, and compelling execution within a commercial context.

  • Train licensees/partners in the use of our creative assets and approval systems.

  • Manage the approval processes, making sure all product development is routed through approval systems as per our global product integrity guidelines.

  • Socialize creative product development strategy across multiple internal and external stakeholder teams to ensure seamless collaboration and generation of meaningful licensee feedback.

  • Initiate and maintain MyMediabox PD and Digital Asset accounts for agents, licensees, and internal Sony teams as well as manages skus in systems for royalty accounting purposes.

  • Create and support product presentations for key licensees, retailers, and internal partners.

  • Review, process, and organize pre-production and production sample quantities. Must be able to carry up to 30lbs.

    Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in consumer products/licensing industry or product development and/or entertainment.

  • Knowledge of toy, hardlines and/or apparel product development and manufacturing preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to efficiently work with all levels of an organization, in a fast-paced environment, managing global relationships.

  • Confident and effective communicating and presenting to internal and external partners.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Independent, proactive, and organized self-starter who adapts easily to change.

  • Experience in building products from concept to retail, particularly in apparel or toys.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency, Media Box and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator preferred.
