Your Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team with expertise in reconciliations. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the reconciliation of general ledger accounts, performing complex analyses, and providing guidance to junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and proven experience in general ledger reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

Lead the reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Perform complex analyses and investigations to identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.

Coordinate reconciliation processes, including review and approval of reconciliations and supporting documentation.

Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, including training and mentoring.

Assist in the development and implementation of reconciliation policies and procedures.

Collaborate with internal and external auditors on audit-related matters.

Participate in financial reporting and analysis activities as needed.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

B+ to C1 proficiency in English and native fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken.

Good Accounting skills: Understanding of UUSS GAPP and/or IFRS is preferred

Reconciliation Skills: Proficiency in reconciling various types of accounts such as bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and intercompany accounts.

Technical skills: Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or others commonly used in the industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is also essential for data analysis and reconciliation tasks.

Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to reviewing financial data, ensuring precision in record-keeping.

Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with colleagues and clients.

Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines, especially during month-end and year-end closing processes.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Capacity to troubleshoot reconciliation discrepancies and effectively resolve issues. This may involve collaborating with other departments or stakeholders to gather necessary information and implement corrective actions.

Teamwork: Collaboration with other members of the finance team, such as controllers, financial analysts, and auditors, is essential to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting

In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP or IFRS standards, and financial reporting requirements.

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle.

Experience in month-end and year-end closing processes.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.
