Responsibilities

NV5 is seeking a Transportation Group Manager based out of our Melville, NY office. This position will manage the transportation (roadway, civil and traffic design) staff and projects for our Long Island office. The Group Manager will also ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and of the highest quality while maintaining positive client relationships. The most frequent and essential work activities include:

    Establish, maintain and monitor schedules, budgets and staffing for projects.
  • Mentor and train employees.
  • Responsible for creating and executing business plans for the group.
  • Responsible for marketing NV5 to NYSDOT, local municipalities and other potential clients to obtain new contracts.
  • Participate in professional associations and societies.
  • Work with our Long Island Director to achieve department goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • New York PE license
  • Minimum of 10-15 years' experience in transportation/highway design engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous management experience
  • Minimum of 4 years with business development within the transportation market
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Previous NYSDOT project experience and municipal roadway improvement projects
  • Experience in managing projects and leading project teams.
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D and/or Open Roads software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment.
  • Experience working on Long Island, NY preferred

The pay range for this New York position is $125,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
