Target Lead Systems Analyst in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The pay range is $89,700.00 - $161,500.00

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible being a strategic partnership and voice of MFA to influence the prioritization and progress of key systems (VPM, SBP, SSAS).

  • Work across the organization to anticipate and influence current and future business logic and business technology requirements for Target’s Digital and Vendor profitability calculators, as well as related SSAS cubes.

  • Work with key partners to evaluate and communicate the impacts of upstream changes on current financial calculations.

  • Be an expert on Retail Accounting (along with base understanding of Cost Accounting) methodologies and related metrics and in understanding how the components used in these calculations are utilized in our core systems.

  • Utilize your technical skills (such as SQL, excel modeling, dashboard building, Greenfield, etc.) and business knowledge to access data across a wide range of data tables and platforms to assist users in analyzing business questions.

  • Be a leader and driver of building, maintaining, sharing reports and tools in service of MFA + relevant partners.

  • Work with Data Science and Finance Analytics teams to define requirements, testing plans and required data quality controls to implement for ongoing system updates and enhancements.

  • Be responsible for understanding how our financial calculators interact with reporting warehouses and related reporting tools to coordinate communication as to implications of enhancements and data recoveries.

  • Understanding of Target’s methods to calculate item and vendor profitability and potential to represent Target Corp in litigation/depositions requiring explanation of these.

About you:

  • 4-Year college degree - Accounting, Business, or Economics

  • Minimum 6 - 8 years business experience

  • Experience with Sharepoint, Domo, Greenfield, and Microsoft PowerQuery

  • Experience with data mining/data wrangling (SQL, BR3, Hive, Automation Portal, Data Miner, etc.)

  • Experience with Excel modeling and building tools/reports in excel

  • Proven project leadership experience

  • Strategic decision-making and influencing skills

  • Ability to build upon ideas/concepts/theories and achieve the desired goal

  • Knowledge of Target’s accounting or financial systems

  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to build relationships & translate technical speak for end users

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
