Position Summary The individual in this role will be responsible for building and cultivating mutually beneficial relationships in the delivery of high quality Transport services. This work will be accomplished through collaboration with the Respiratory Therapists, Advanced Practice Providers, Physicians, Nursing and organizational leadership inside and outside of Children's. In addition, this individual will have the accountability for daily operations of Transport and will lead the staff in achieving Children's goals in the areas of safety, finance and experience. Responsibilities: *Adds value as a key member of management; understands the business, financials, industry, customers and strategy *Supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, trains and develops, and manages performance goals and expectations *Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls *Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of patient care on assigned unit on 24-hour basis *Collaborates with staff, outreach education, and coordinators and medical staff to facilitate effective orientation for new employees *Contributes to the Hospital through support of philosophy and objectives, educational, quality improvement, research and evidence-based practice efforts *Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age *Participates in committees, task forces, meetings and activities to assist in the development of staff and promote self-professional development *Quality assurance and improvement including database maintenance Education: *Registered Respiratory Therapist, Registered Nurse or EMT certification required *Bachelor's degree required *Master's degree in a healthcare or related field preferred Experience: *Minimum 3 years relevant experience *Experience supervising departments/employees preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Demonstrated ability in strategic thinking, planning and implementation *An in-depth knowledge of regulations and guidelines for governing areas of responsibility *Proven track record of leading cost-effective hospital and health services operations *Demonstrate excellent collaboration and influence skills to support service line development *Demonstrated effective communication and organizational skills required, which includes verbal and written skills for both individual and group communications *Strong, effective collaborative negotiation and influencing, goal setting, conflict resolution, staff development, and customer service skills *Knowledge, methods and skills needed to effectuate change, to understand and value the perspectives and responsibilities of others, and the capacity to mentor others *Financial acumen *Excellent Customer Service Skills *Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar softwa e is required. *Electronic health record software used for inpatient care and interfacility transport is preferred The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.
